Former Penn State safety Trent Gordon is transferring to Arkansas to resume his college football career. The Texas native entered his name in the transfer portal earlier this season, after being moved from cornerback to safety earlier this year.

A three-star prospect in Penn State's 2018 class, Gordon picked the Nittany Lions over schools like LSU, Florida, and Georgia. He enrolled early and eventually redshirted his first season on campus. As injuries piled up last year, he began to have a bigger role in the defense than expected. His move to safety came with the emergence of Joey Porter Jr., Keaton Ellis, and Marquis Wilson. While he didn't see much game action at the position this year, he would have battled for a starting role in 2021 with both Lamont Wade and Jaquan Brisker set to graduate.
Gordon will have three years of eligibility remaining.
