A four-star player and one of two quarterbacks to sign with Penn State in 2018, Johnson Jr. never attempted a pass during his time in the Blue and White.
Johnson Jr.'s father, Mike Johnson, is a longtime assistant coach at both the NFL and college level. He most recently served as Mississippi State's wide receivers coach under Joe Moorhead back in 2019.
He will have at least three years of eligibility remaining and is expected to be eligible immediately.
