Penn State starting defensive tackle Antonio Shelton has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal according to multiple reports. A fifth-year senior, he appears set to take advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Athletic's Audrey Snyder first reported this story.

A two-year starter for the Nittany Lions, Shelton has appeared in 40 games in his Penn State career, totaling 51 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks. He was playing some of his best football down the stretch this season, which makes his decision to potentially transfer all the more surprising.

He is the second Nittany Lion defensive tackle to enter the Portal, joining rising redshirt junior Judge Culpepper.

Culpepper, who graduated from Penn State last December, will be eligible immediately and will have one season of eligibility remaining.
