They are coming to our city.

For the first time since 2019, and the eighth time ever, ESPN College GameDay will air live from State College for Saturday's Whiteout clash with the Auburn Tigers. The show returns for the first time since October 2019, when the Nittany Lions knocked off MIchigan 28-21 in the most recent Whiteout.

The 2019 edition took place on the HUB Lawn, while the previous two visits set up on the Old Main Lawn. The final location will be announced later this week. With construction complete on the Old Main bell tower, it would not be a a shock to see things return to one of the most iconic spots on campus.

Saturday's clash with Auburn marks the first visit by an SEC program to Happy Valley since Alabama knocked off the Nittany Lions in 2011. That was also the last time the signature Penn State Whiteout took place vs. a non-Big Ten program. The game vs. the Tigers kicks off a 7:30 p.m. on ABC, while GameDay airs at 9:00 a.m. that morning on ESPN.
