Update: Sean Clifford will not return to the game. The specific injury is unknown.

Things have taken a less than ideal turn in Iowa City. After going up 17-3 early on, Penn State has surrendered a touchdown to the Hawkeyes, but also may have lost their starting quarterback.

Sean Clifford headed to the locker room after taking a big hit to the ribs on a third down pass on his last play. After spending some time in the injury tent, the senior quarterback headed to the locker room, albeit under his own power.

The Nittany Lions' first series with backup Ta'Quan Roberson did not go well at all. The redshirt sophomore fumbled his first snap, before throwing a near pick on second down, and three straight false starts on third.
