With Sean Clifford knocked out of the game, Penn State turned to true freshman quarterback Christian Veilleux and the Canadian did not disappoint, finding Jahan Dotson in the back of the endzone for his first career touchdown.

This was Veilleux's first game action in nearly two years, as he has not played football since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic eliminating his senior season of high school football.

The Nittany Lions lead Rutgers 7-0 at the half.
