James Franklin essentially ended any doubt over who would be under center for Penn State against Michigan State Saturday. While not officially naming Sean Clifford the starter, Franklin noted Tuesday that Clifford is handling first-team reps in practice this week after recovering from an illness in the lead up to Rutgers.
After making his college debut in the second quarter and throwing his first three career touchdown passes against Rutgers, Christian Veilleux is back with the second team.

Adds that Clifford will get first-team reps this week while Christian Veilleux will see second-team again.
Clifford left Penn State's contest with the Scarlet Knights Saturday with flu-like symptoms that sidetracked a number of Nittany Lions last week, but Franklin said his quarterback is "back to normal" ahead of a clash with the 9-2 Spartans.
Veilleux was impressive in relief, tossing the first three touchdowns of his career, and jump starting the Nittany Lion offense.
