A second Penn State defensive back in as many weeks has entered the transfer portal. According to multiple reports, redshirt freshman safety Enzo Jennings has made the decision to pursue a transfer from Penn State. He joins fellow safety Tyler Rudolph, who entered the portal last week.

Hailing from just outside of Detroit, Jennings was the second highest ranked defensive player in Penn State's 2020 recruiting class, and third overall. At the time, the four-star prospect was the latest blue chip prospect to choose the Nittany Lions out of the Motor City.

Jennings struggled to find playing time in Happy Valley. He appeared in one game as a true freshman in 2020, but did not take the field for the Nittany Lions in 2021. With Jaquan Brisker and Ji'Ayir Brown locking down the starting safety spots, Jennings was unable to find a role with Jonathan Sutherland, Keaton Ellis, and freshman Jaylen Reed all seeing action at safety in front of him. With the arrival of 2022 safety prospects Christian Driver and KJ Winston, plus the possibility of Mekhi Flowers ending up on the defensive side of the ball, playing time was going to be an even bigger fight heading into the 2022 season.
