Penn State senior defensive end Arnold Ebiketie and senior defensive tackle Derrick Tangelo have opted out of Saturday's Outback Bowl to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Though Ebiketie and Tangelo only spent one season each in the blue and white, both proved to be valuable additions to a rock-solid Nittany Lion defense after transferring from Temple and Duke, respectively.

Ebiketie made an immediate impact in Penn State's season-opening victory over Wisconsin, registering seven tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a blocked field goal. The redshirt senior ended up leading the Nittany Lions in tackles for loss with 18 and sacks with 9.5.

Tangelo finished his lone Penn State campaign with 29 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, and continued to be an anchor on the Nittany Lions' defensive line when PJ Mustipher went down for the season in October.

Penn State will be without six starters against Arkansas. Ebiketie and Tangelo join safety Jaquan Brisker, linebackers Brandon Smith and Ellis Brooks, and wide receiver Jahan Dotson among the Nittany Lions' opt-outs.
