Penn State offensive tackle Rasheed Walker has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, forgoing his remaining college eligibility and ending his Nittany Lion career.

A four-star prospect in Penn State's 2018 recruiting class, Walker redshirted his first season on campus before sliding into the starting lineup in 2019. He started every game in 2020 as well, earning All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and media.

He came into 2021 with high expectations, but like Penn State's offensive line as a whole, struggled to take the next step and helped contribute to the offensive's underperforming year. Still, Walker was a third-team All-Big Ten selection by the media for his performance. He missed the final three games of the season and was spotted on crutches at the Outback Bowl, but this decision seems to hint he expects to be healthy in time for the NFL Combine and Penn State's Pro Day this spring.

Penn State has a handful of options to replace Walker going forward, with Olu Fashanu (who started the Outback Bowl in his absence) and Landon Tengwall being the two most likely names. The staff could also look in the transfer portal to add some depth.
