Penn State running back Noah Cain has entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Cain rushed 106 times for 350 yards and a team-high four touchdowns in 2021. He averaged just 3.3 yards per carry as the offense struggled to get anything going on the ground all season.
The IMG Academy product made an instant impact for the Nittany Lions, rushing for 443 yards and eight touchdowns as a true freshman in 2019. He was injured on the first drive of the first game of the 2020 season. After missing the remainder of last season, he struggled to regain his 2019 form in 2021.
Even with Cain's potential departure, Penn State's running back room remains loaded with talent. Leading rusher Keyvone Lee is expected to return in 2022, as well as proven contributors Devyn Ford and Caziah Holmes. Two four-star prospects, Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, arrived on campus earlier this week and will be with the team for spring practice.
