Going up against what had been one of the nation's hottest teams to start the season, no one would have blamed Penn State goalie Peyton Jones for letting a few pucks slip by him, courtesy of Wisconsin. Instead, the Nittany Lion netminder stood on his head for most of the weekend and paved the way for his team to sweep the No. 7/8 Badgers and earned himself the Big Ten First Star of the Week in the process.

Jones was excellent on the back end for the high-scoring Lions, stopping 63-of-66 shots during the two-game sweep, creating plenty of highlights along the way. Penn State routed the Badgers on Thursday in a 6-1 win and held tough for a strong 4-2 win on Saturday.

The senior Jones has a sterling 1.67 goals-against average through his first 10 games, with a save percentage of 0.947. He's 6-0 and so far, has been everything the Nittany Lions need him to be for the team to make a run at another Big Ten title and a Frozen Four berth.

Penn State hockey is back in action on Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9 as the Michigan State Spartans will visit Pegula Arena.
