Penn State made another addition from the transfer portal earlier today. Former North Dakota Fighting Hawk Ashton Calder announced that he is playing his last season of eligibility in Happy Valley.

Calder spent the first three seasons of his career at Lake Superior State. He racked up 79 points in 107 games with the Lakers. Calder helped the Lakers reach the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1996 in the 2020-21 season. During his tenure, he was a member of the WCHA Second All-Star team and All-Rookie team.
Just take a moment to enjoy this..

This past season at UND, the 6-foot-1 forward was fifth on the Fighting Hawks in points (21) and second on the team in goals (11).

Calder's addition makes Penn State's forwards a lot deeper and gives Guy Gadowsky lots of options when creating his forward lines. Last week, the Nittany Lions added Ture Linden to help out at center.
Calder is a right wing that has great hands and excels in creating time and space for himself. He will help Penn State with offensive zone entries and will also bring experience to the lineup as a graduate student.
