"He's a dog, and dogs do dog things" - Marcus Allen
Bo Nickal has done the thing again where he pins his opponent in a meaningful dual meet. Penn State was expected to be pushed to the limit against Ohio State. The Buckeyes had a lineup that was an awkward matchup for Penn State, but the Nittany Lions shined in Columbus. However, no one shined more so than Bo Nickal, who pinned No. 2 Kollin Moore in the first period.
Nickal's fall put Penn State up 24-6, and clinched the dual with two matches remaining. Nickal has a history of showing up for the Nittany Lions' in the biggest moments, and his fall over Moore is another. Kollin Moore is the No. 2 ranked wrestler at 197 pounds, he's a two-time All-American, and has developed into one of the best wrestlers in the nation. However, that's not even enough to stop Bo Nickal once he locks up a cradle. Moore did an admirable job of trying to fight off his back, but there's only so much one can do in that spot.
This fall should solidify Bo Nickal's case for the Hodge Trophy (Nation's Most Outstanding Wrestler). If Nickal remains undefeated and continues to bonus his way he has all season, Nickal should be the considerable favorite for the Hodge. It would be a fitting end to the career of one of the best wrestlers in school history.
