Week 3 Total   3-3 3-3

Another average week for us. The picks that we both seemed most confident about (sans Penn State) worked out, however, as we both felt great about Indiana and Northwestern. As we said last week, we're riding this joint-Hoosier/Wildcat train all the way to Indianapolis. Ain't nothing gonna stop us now.

Week four

Iowa (-3) at Minnesota, November 13 (7:00 pm)

This is a tough game to pick. Iowa was impressive a week ago in its smashing of Michigan State, but we're still not totally sold. Granted, the Gophers still have much to prove as well, but they played well a week ago themselves. Plus this one will be in Minneapolis, so the PJ Fleck's squad doesn't need to worry about traveling.

Nick: Minnesota 27 (+3), Iowa 20

Flip: Minnesota plus the points

Penn State (-3.5) at Nebraska, November 14 (12:00 pm)

Two of the conference's winless teams are set to meet up in Lincoln on Saturday where one of them will walk away with a victory, deserving or not. If this Penn State team is able to find any sort of cohesion on either side of the ball, it should easily cover a 3.5 point spread. But we haven't seen that happen yet in 2020. Could Nebraska's offensive strategy of "just keep running the quarterback" be enough to knock off a reeling Lions squad?

Nick: Penn State 28 (-3.5), Nebraska 20

Flip: Penn State minus the points

No. 10 Indiana (-7.5) at Michigan State, November 14 (12:00 pm)

Indiana is playing extremely well to open 2020, having already knocked off both Penn State and Michigan. How good are Penn State and Michigan? Hard to say at this point, but they're still quality wins for this Indiana team. Now they have to contend with a trap game against the ultimate trap team (aside from themselves). Though only getting 7.5 points seems like a bit of an insult to Tom Allen's squad.

Nick: Indiana 34 (-7.5), Michigan State 16

Flip: Indiana minus the points

Illinois at Rutgers (-5.5), November 14 (12:00 pm)

Illinois just doesn't have the magic this year. The program still is in a much better place than it had been in the past few years, but the breaks aren't going their way so far in 2020. Even worse, playing Rutgers this season won't be a straight-forward win like it used to be. The Scarlet Knights showed some fight against the Buckeyes, even if it happened in the second half of an already decided contest.

Nick: Rutgers 37 (-5.5), Illinois 23

Flip: Rutgers minus the points

No. 23 Northwestern (-3) at Purdue, November 14 (5:00 pm)

After the blatant Northwestern disrespect from Vegas a week ago, the Wildcats pick up favorite status this time around against a Purdue team that hasn't played since Week Two. The Cats are looking very solid through three weeks, though Purdue showed already that they are capable of hanging with their conference-mates. Try to brace yourself for what I'm about to say – this Northwestern vs. Purdue game in mid-November should be a fun one.

Nick: Northwestern 30 (-3), Purdue 17

Flip: Northwestern minus the points

No. 13 Wisconsin (-4.5) at Michigan, November 14 (7:30 pm)

After three weeks, Wisconsin is set to be back on the field after positive COVID tests kept them off of it. Should they be playing football right now? Nope! But this is 2020 and all that matters is money. Michigan took it on the chin two weeks in a row from their rivals from East Lansing and the upstarts from Bloomington. Now they have to try to get back on track against a talented, but potentially unprepared Badger team.

Nick: Wisconsin 27, Michigan 24 (+4.5)

Matt: Wisconsin minus the points

Nick: Indiana -7.5
Flip: Northwestern -3
