In your FAQ, there is a quote that says This is supposed to be fun.  I am disappointed that I read this article twice and it should be on a site such as or something like that, rather than a Penn State football blog.  As you also say, there are many sites that cater to social issues and RLR was not going to be part of it but alas, here it is.

Good luck guys--signing off.

Penn State should play games in areas where exposure would make sense for recruiting.  It would be great to see Notre Dame or one of the Florida schools.  UGA or Ga Tech would be interesting (I suppose Auburn will satisfy this with close proximity to ATL).  Perhaps one year when they have 5 home Big Ten games, opt to play in a neutral site game against a marquee opponent in Atlanta or Dallas.

At least it's not the basketball team that they are talking about.  I read somewhere that they had an average just north of 4K attendees (purposely did not use the word fans to protect the innocent that were drug there under duress).

Nard-o is more than likely licking his chops waiting for the dominoes to fall at MSU so that he can come in and save they day for ol' Sparty.

We also did it with Oregon State a bunch of years ago.  I am too lazy to look it up but we won it quite handily.

I would suspect some more middling schools may do it from time to time.  Remember Indiana sold their home game against PSU to the Redskins and they played in Washington.  I know, not the same but it was made for money reasons--similar to the Syracuse-PSU game at MetLife a few years ago.

We will see.  Rahne seems to be more of a gambler and you can see coach Franklin was none too pleased (into the headphone) when they fumbled that exchange which led to UW points.  These guys know each other well so we will see how that works out.

Have to go with the Rose.  No one touched him in the Fiesta and the blocking was there.  Those cut backs in the Rose were awesome and when he split those 3 defenders, it was off to the races.  Makes you wonder what could have been if the OL played like they did all season like in the Fiesta.

As painful as it was watching on my phone in the Charlotte airport the other night, I would not write this season off quite yet.  The talent is there and the B1G appears to be down again, creating the opportunity to capitalize.  Will they take it, we'll see.  I am not sure who the dream coach is going to come in a instantly turn Penn State into a annual contender.  I don't think Pitino is coming anytime soon.

James Franklin has remarked about the Ohio State holder who almost tracked down Grant Haley on the famous "Kick Six" play last year.

Hot seat or warm seat I would tend to disagree.  While some "fans" were annoyed at the 7 win seasons, Franklin's superiors (the AD and president) did not seem to be turning up the heat given the situation that they were in.  I give coach Franklin credit for coming into a situation wanting to run an RPO offense and having a protege drop back passer entrenched as the starting QB.  Credit him for keeping Hackenburg at Penn State (there were talks of him transferring, which would have left PSU without a QB who was a good soldier for the school at the time even if the styles of play and scheme were not so much compatible).

The UT thing is fun to watch (as long as it doesn't happen to YOUR school).  Shoop is a weasel and if "intolerable working conditions" means that your spouses don't get along, I suppose there will always be jobs for ambulance chaser lawyers to argue that out for.  He agreed to a contract and when he went to UT, it was widely understood that UT was not paying his buyout and he wasn't making much more than he was making at PSU.  He's a loser and is getting what is deserved.  I am sure he can find a job at Slippery Rock or something like that.

Keep in mind that PSU has yet to play the likes of Illinois or Rutgers. MSU and Michigan won't light up the scoreboard either. Add in Maryland who is on their 4th QB and the competition doesn't appear to threaten this unit much.
